Dibabe Hotel Lodge proudly carries the name "Dibabe", otherwise “Dibaabee” which can translate to “graceful/majestic” and "umbrella/shade/shelter" in other words a protector, a guide and a guard in Afan Oromo. This name was chosen to honour the founder's mother, Mrs Dibabe, a woman whose spark and spirit continues to inspire us every single day. She has always been and still is a woman with a kind heart and a hand always stretched to provide protection and shelter to her families and everyone she crosses path with. We embraced her name not just to preserve her legacy, but to also extend the same warmth, care and service to everyone we encounter. Keeping all the businesses in her name is an unprecedented pleasure and a great responsibility that magnifies what is expected of us in a daily basis to truly resemble her, her believes and actions that made us be who we are today. Yet again, the name Dibabe holds an even deeper significance as it also represents the Warka tree or Ficus vasta, a magnificent, indigenous Ethiopian tree that provides shade and shelter to those beneath it. Much like the Warka tree, which offers refuge and comfort to many, Dibabe Hotel Lodge aims to be a sanctuary for its guests, providing warmth, hospitality, and protection. The Warka tree symbolizes strength, resilience, and generosity; qualities that are deeply rooted in the heart and soul of Dibabe Hotel Lodge.
